Melrose Road will be closed at the South Umpqua River from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, due to work on the Conn Ford Bridge replacement project.

Dan Latham of the Oregon Department of Transportation said Melrose Road motorists are advised to detour using Old Melrose Road, West Harvard Avenue, Northwest Stewart Parkway and Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard.

Latham said during the closure, prime contractor Farline Bridge will stage a crane and other equipment on the temporary bypass bridge, allowing them to remove a work platform. This work is expected to take about seven hours.
