Beginning Monday June 12th, the Douglas County Parks Department will temporarily close Pickett County Park near Canyonville for a pavement improvement project.

A County release said the work is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

As the park is a popular destination for launching boats, fishing, swimming, picnicking and barbecues, patrons are encouraged to select an alternate facility among other county parks, during the closure.

Pickett County Park is located off Interstate 5 exit 98 at Canyonville, about one mile east of Canyonville off Tiller Trail Highway on Pickett Lane.
