A Roseburg man was jailed after a foot pursuit on Saturday.

A Roseburg Police report said just after 5:00 p.m. an officer saw the 30-year old walking on the sidewalk and ran him for wants and warrants. The officer discovered the man was out of compliance on his sex offender registration and had not reported in over two years.

When an officer attempted to contact him, the suspect fled on foot. A perimeter was set and a K9 was deployed. The K9 located the suspect and the man was bit in the process. The man had minor injuries and was transported to corrections after being treated at CHI Mercy Medical Center.

Multiple officers along with a deputy from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were involved in the incident.
