One man was jailed and one was cited, following a traffic stop in Curtin Tuesday evening.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at about 8:40 p.m. a deputy stopped a vehicle for traffic violations in the 400 block of Bear Creek Road. Both occupants of the vehicle were cited for not wearing seat belts. The driver, a 20-year old Eugene man, was also cited for driving while suspended and for driving without insurance.

The passenger refused to identify himself and claimed he was a sovereign citizen. He was ultimately arrested and transported to corrections where deputies eventually determined his identity as a 32-year old from Eugene. There was a felony warrant for his arrest. He was detained without bail.
