The Umpqua National Forest is no longer offering frontline in-person customer service at the Diamond Lake Toketee Ranger Station, as of last week.

A UNF release said in-person customer service is available at the North Umpqua Ranger District in Glide, the Tiller Ranger District in Tiller, and the Supervisor’s Office in Roseburg.

The UNF will reestablish in-person customer service at Diamond Lake at the Diamond Lake Visitor Center in the future. A date for that has not been established. The move is part of an effort to better meet the needs of the public and capitalize on the Visitor Center’s central location.

UNF Supervisor Alice Carlton said, “We are making this change in part to better meet growing public demand as well as capitalize on the Visitor Center’s position of being both high traffic and near Crater Lake National Park”. Carlton said the change is being made to maximize public contact opportunities in the highest traffic areas and put employees in places where they can engage more with visitors.
