A Heat Advisory remains in effect from Saturday at 12:00 p.m. through Sunday at 11:00 p.m. for most of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said maximum temperatures of 90 to near 100 degrees are expected.

The Advisory area includes central Douglas County and its eastern foothills, Josephine and Jackson County, eastern Curry County, and the Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains.

Forecasters said hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses to occur. A period of near record heat is expected over the westside valleys Saturday into Sunday. It will also be slow to cool off Saturday night, especially in more urban areas.

Residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
