13.69 percent of local registered voters have cast a ballot in the 2023 Douglas County Special Districts Election, as of late Thursday.
County Clerk Daniel Loomis said the 12,012 ballots that have been received lags slightly behind the participation rate for the same point in the last Special Districts Election two years ago. Loomis told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the average participation rate for the last seven Special Districts Elections has been about twenty-two percent. At the current pace, that level of participation will not likely be reached.
Ballots mailed in must be post marked by Tuesday May 16th. They can also be taken to one of the fifteen ballot drop sites around the county. The list of locations and more election information is linked: https://douglascounty-oregon.us/178/Elections
