A Drain man was jailed in a sex crimes case by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

A DCSO report said following up on a sex abuse investigation led to the arrest of 18-year old Larry Mertens IV. He was charged with third-degree sex abuse, strangulation and harassment. Mertens was detained without bail and was released on Tuesday.

The report said the alleged victim is known to the suspect. No further information was released by DCSO.
