A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 2:00 p.m. Friday above 1,500 feet in central Douglas County.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said heavy snow is expected with additional accumulations of 1 to 6 inches.

The Advisory area includes the passes on Interstate 5 between Glendale and Canyonville, Highway 42 near Camas Mountain, and portions of Highway 227 from Tiller southward.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult to impossible. Drivers should carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
