The Roseburg City Council approved all action items on their agenda Monday night.
A synopsis provided by staff said councilors adopted a resolution approving a property tax exemption for Opportunity Council property located on Sunshine Road. They approved a tentative two-year collective bargaining agreement with the Roseburg Police Employees Association. Other items were adopted as well.
Three citizens addressed the council expressing concerns over bulk water rate increases, the need for a campground for the unhoused, and regarding alleged illegal activity and chronic nuisance neighboring properties.
Mayor Larry Rich proclaimed March as Red Cross Month and encouraged local citizens to support the organization.
During a Work Study Session before the main meeting, councilors were provided with Homeless Commission update regarding the Gary Leif Navigation Center and an urban campground. Information was provided by City Manager Nikki Messenger and City Attorney Jim Forrester on time, place and manner regulations.
The meeting adjourned just after 8:00 p.m. The next council meeting will be Monday March 27th.
