A two-vehicle accident caused extensive damage to both vehicles on Monday.

A Roseburg Police report said just before 3:20 p.m. a man was driving westbound on Northwest Stewart Parkway when he attempted to make a left turn onto Northwest Airport Road. As his vehicle started to make the turn, it was hit by a pickup that was traveling eastbound on Stewart Parkway.

The first driver had failed to yield to oncoming traffic. His box van sustained damage to the passenger rear side to include dislodging the axle from a portion of the undercarriage. The pickup was also heavily damaged.

The driver of the first vehicle was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Both vehicles had to be towed away. No one was injured.
