Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged theft incident Saturday morning.

An RPD report said at about 6:45 a.m. the 31-year old allegedly took multiple grocery items from a store in the 700 block of Southeast Jackson Street. He left his benefits card on the premise that it would have value the next week, which was not agreed upon by the cashier. The suspect was found on Rowe Street, still in possession of the items.

The man was charged with theft in the third-degree. Bail was set at $1,250.
