All lanes of Interstate 5 southbound are closed at Ashland exit 34 as of 8:00 a.m. Friday morning.

An update from the Oregon Department of Transportation said the closure is due to severe winter weather conditions in northern California. All lanes of the freeway northbound in California are closed at Redding to the Oregon border. A lengthy closure is expected. Local detour routes are limited.
