The first rain since late June is expected in the Umpqua Valley on Wednesday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that a cold front coming in is bringing moisture to the region. An associated low-pressure system is expected to stick around into the weekend, with high temperatures generally ten to fifteen degrees below normal in the forecast, along with the rain.

Roseburg has not had any measurable precipitation since June 28th when 0.04 inches of rain was recorded. The heaviest rainfall of the summer so far was on June 26th, when 0.18 inches was recorded. June received only 0.48 inches of rain for the entire month. The forecast for Roseburg calls for up to a half inch of rain on Wednesday, with up to an additional quarter inch of precipitation Wednesday evening. That would be well beyond the amount received for all of June.
