Roseburg Police jailed a man following a reported theft incident early Thursday morning.

An RPD report said at 6:30 a.m. officers responded to a store in the 2500 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway after an employee said a shoplifter had been detained and was actively trying to fight with employees. Upon arrival, 34-year-old Rickey Winkley was restrained by loss prevention staff. Multiple witnesses corroborated that Winkley had tried to leave the business with just over $30 worth of merchandise. Two employees said the suspect pushed them multiple times during the incident and they wished to pursue charges for harassment.

Winkley was charged with third-degree theft and two counts of harassment. Bail was set at $6,250.
