An Elkton man was jailed for a restraining order violation on Monday morning.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 11:00 a.m. while checking up on an abandoned trailer at the Elkton Cemetery on Azalea Drive in the Elkton area, a deputy was approached and told the trailer belonged to the girlfriend of a 44-year-old man. It was stated that they were both at the listed address for contact. The deputy performed a routine records check and determined a restraining order was in place prohibiting the man from contacting the woman.
The man arrived on scene and hinted that she had been staying with him for two days. He was detained and transported to a nearby address where the woman was found on the property. She corroborated that she had been there for approximately two days.
The man was also charged with a felony probation violation. Bail was set at $5,000.
