OSU EXTENSION SERVICE WITH PLANNING YOUR SMALL FARM BUSINESS CLASS

June 20, 2026 2:50 a.m.

The Oregon State University Extension Service has a class on Planning Your Small Farm Business.

It will be held on September 9th at 5:30 p.m. at the Extension Service office on Southeast Douglas Avenue, next to the courthouse. The event is sponsored by the Douglas County Farm Bureau. It is free to attend, but registration is required by August 25th.

For those thinking about starting a small farm or ranch business, and expanding an existing operation, this introductory class will walk participants through the basics of building a small farm enterprise. That includes setting goals, evaluating available resources, developing a practical farm plan, identifying markets and thinking strategically about growth.

The presenters will also discuss land access, infrastructure needs, funding opportunities, and resources available to beginning farmers and ranchers, as well as those ready to expand their business.

Registration will open soon. Get more information on Extension classes and activities, go to: Douglas County | OSU Extension Service
