As of late Thursday, five fires have been confirmed on the Diamond Lake Ranger District of the Umpqua National Forest, following thunderstorms on Wednesday.

A UNF update said all fires are being managed for full suppression and remain small, with the largest incident at just over one acre. They include:

*Loafing Fire: One-tenth of an acre fire that is located northeast of Elephant Mountain

*Hidden Fire: Located northeast of Trap Mountain, this fire is estimated at one-fourth of an acre. Two engines and a dozer are on scene

*Trap Fire: Located north of Trap Mountain, the fire is estimated at 1.11 acres. It is 100 percent lined. One engine, one hand crew and one falling module are on scene

*Elephant Fire: Located near Elephant Mountain, just east of Lemolo Lake, is estimated at one-tenth of an acre.

*Watson Fire: Located northwest of Watson Butte, this fire is estimated at one-tenth of an acre and is contained

Holdover fires and new smoke reports are anticipated in the coming days. Forest Service crews continue to look for fires with boots on the ground and aerial detection.
