Roseburg Police jailed two men following a reported strangulation incident early Thursday morning.

An RPD report said at 1:50 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 2500 block of Northeast Douglas Avenue where callers said they heard a physical altercation between multiple individuals. Upon arrival, officers observed 35-year-old Jeremy Simms and a 45-year-old Glide man in a physical fight.

Officers intervened and learned that during the altercation, Simms allegedly strangled one victim and assaulted a second one. Simms was charged with strangulation, fourth -degree assault and second-degree disorderly conduct. He was detained without bail.

The 45-year-old was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct. He was detained without bail and was released later in the morning.
