Roseburg Police jailed a man early Wednesday for an alleged prior theft incident.

An RPD report said the 30-year-old was contacted as part of the investigation into an incident where he allegedly stole motor oil from a store in the 1000 block of West Harvard Avenue.  The man admitted to the theft. A detainer was authorized and he was taken into custody at about 1:40 a.m.

He was charged with third-degree theft and a parole violation. Bail was set at $1,000.
