Conditions are expected to warm up in the Umpqua Valley starting Wednesday with the potential for near triple digit high temperatures by Sunday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that highs will be at seasonal norms Wednesday before slowly ramping up as a ridge of high pressure impacts the region. Thursday and Friday, highs will be in the low to mid 80s before jumping to the low to mid 90s on Saturday.
Forecasters said Sunday and Monday, afternoon highs should hover around the century mark with the potential for heat advisories to be issued. There should be some cooling as next week rolls on.
The mercury reached 67 degrees on Monday at the Roseburg Regional Airport.
