Roseburg Police jailed a woman for DUII and other charges on Monday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 5:45 p.m. officers responded after a caller said the driver was leaving the Winston area with an infant in the vehicle which was heading towards Roseburg. Officers spotted the sedan reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed and failing to maintain its lane when entering Southeast Stephens Street off Highway 99S.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and contacted 22-year-old Mariah Sabota during a traffic stop near the intersection of Southeast Stephens Street and Southeast Lane Avenue. Officers observed an infant lying on his back on the floorboard in the back of the vehicle. Officers instructed Sabota to get out of the vehicle where she agreed to perform standard field sobriety tests. She allegedly performed poorly and was taken to corrections. The woman reportedly refused to provide a breath sample. A warrant was requested and granted. Sabota was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center for a blood draw and then was returned to corrections. The infant was picked up by Child Protective Services. The vehicle was released to a family member.

Sabota was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, second-degree child neglect, recklessly endangering another person and reckless driving. She was cited for failure to properly use a seatbelt and failure to drive within a lane. Sabota was detained on $6,250 bail and was released on Tuesday.
