May 20, 2026 3:50 a.m.

It appears that Douglas County Commissioner Chris Boice and challenger Steve Hammerson are headed to the November ballot, while Commissioners Tom Kress and Tim Freeman are winning their races.

Unofficial results from the Douglas County Clerk’s Office as of early Wednesday show Chris Boice with 48 percent of the vote to 25 percent for Hammerson. Andrew Rosales has 15 percent of the vote with Kathi Wall-Meyer receiving 9 percent and David Bohn getting just over 3 percent. 50 percent of the vote is required to achieve a Primary Election victory. A lesser percentage means the top two vote getters will face off this fall.

Tom Kress has 64 percent of the vote, with challengers Lorrie Wick, Nick Mitchell and Devlan Sorensen receiving 21 percent, 11 percent and 3 percent respectively.

Tim Freeman has 53 percent of the vote. Challengers Samantha Frost, Shane Kelly and Brandy Stone are getting 20 percent, 15 percent and 11 percent.

Races for County Assessor and County Surveyor were unopposed.

31 percent of county voters turned in a ballot, according to returns as of early Wednesday.
