Saving Grace Humane Society has its 5th annual Barks & Recreation Event this Saturday.
The dog-friendly celebration will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Stewart Park in Roseburg. It brings together pets and people for a day of connection, fun and support for local shelter programs and services. All friendly on leash dogs are welcome.
Saving Grace Development and Communications Manager Cyn Demers said, “Events like Barks & Recreation are a reminder of how strong and compassionate this community event is”. Demers said, “It’s a day where people come together not just to have fun with their pets, but to support one another and the work we do for animals in need.
Presented with the support of First Community Credit Union and other local partners, Barks & Recreation offers a wide variety of activities for all ages. Attendees can explore over 30 pet-friendly vendors, enjoy food trucks and a wine and beer garden, participate in dog contests and activities and access reduced-cost vaccines and microchips for dogs. Saving Grace will have adoptable dogs on-site for those interested in welcoming a new companion.
A highlight of the day will be the Alumni Walk at 12:00 p.m., where dogs adopted from Saving Grace are invited to return and celebrate alongside their families. Dog contests will follow from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Contest registration is available onsite for $10 per entry.
