Wildlife Safari has announced the arrival of three new African Painted Dogs to the park’s drive thru area.

Marketing Coordinator Ali Shaver said guests can now spot the new pack members enjoying their habitat and settling into their new home.

Shaver said the trio includes 9-year-old male Kiraka and his two 6-year-old daughters, Samburu and Mikumi. The painted dogs arrived from The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Springs, California.

Shaver said since their arrival, the family group has adjusted wonderfully to their new surroundings. Keepers report that the painted dogs have been especially enjoying the lush green grass and spending time exploring their habitat together.

Guests visiting Wildlife Safari’s drive thru can now watch the painted dog family as they explore, relax, and enjoy their new environment. Guests can also get a closer look at the pack during the Pride and Pack encounter and learn more about their unique species.
