A contractor working for the Oregon Department of Transportation is continuing work on Oregon 42 in the Green District.
Dan Latham of ODOT said the west end of Grant Smith Road is scheduled to be closed Sunday night from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday. Latham said a detour will be available from Grant Smith Road along Ingram Drive, Speedway Road, and Old Highway 99 to Oregon 42.
The closures will allow contractors to pave local road approaches.
Latham said if all goes as planned, the contractor will begin paving the Oregon 42 travel lanes on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday. This will involve possible lane closures on Oregon 42, and possible closures of side roads where they meet the highway for a few hours. Latham said drivers should watch for messages on roadside reader boards.
This work is part of the $11.97 million Oregon 42: Lookingglass Creek to Interstate 5 Paving and Safety Improvements project. Complete information on the project is available at: https://www.oregon.gov/odot/projects/pages/project-details.aspx?project=21677
