High pressure aloft means above normal high temperatures and no precipitation in the Umpqua Valley for the next seven days.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that highs are expected to be at or slightly above 80 degrees. That is over 10 degrees above normal. The exception will be Friday, when a weak weather system will cool temperatures to the mid-70s. That is still well above the normal high temperature of 69 degrees for this week in May.

The mercury reached 73 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport on Wednesday.
