Sunday was the hottest day of the year so far in the Umpqua Valley, with more above normal high temperatures expected for much of this week.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 85 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The previous hottest day for 2026 was 82 degrees on March 18th. 68 degrees is the normal temperature for this week in May.
Highs for Roseburg should be in the low to mid 70s on Monday and the upper 70s on Tuesday. High pressure will build back into the region, leading to highs of around 80 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday, before cooling slightly on Friday.
