Ballots for the May Primary Election are arriving in the mail and must be cast no later than 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19th.

Douglas County Clerk Daniel Loomis said voters can use the U.S. Postal Service or any ballot drop site to cast their ballot. Loomis said those using the Postal Service should mail their ballot at least one week in advance of Election Day to be safe. Those who take their ballot to the post office on or near Election Day should ask the staff to stamp the envelope with a hand-cancellation stamp. To find a nearby official ballot drop site, go to: https://www.douglascountyor.gov/179/Official-Drop-Site-Locations There is a new location at Umpqua Community College near the school’s library.

Voters who have not received a ballot by Friday, May 8th, should call or visit the Elections Office at the courthouse.
