Glide Revitalization will have its Heron’s Flight 5K fun run, walk and community wellness fair on Saturday.

The event will take place at the Glide Community Center on North Umpqua Highway from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The race begins at 10:30 a.m.

The wellness fair will feature local vendors, health resources, and activities for people of all ages. Participants will include Aviva Health, the Umpqua Community College Nursing Program, Glide Fire Department, Little Loggers Playschool, Umpqua Valley Farm 2 School and others.

Heron’s Flight exists to honor Carmen Bernal, who dedicated her life to nursing and caring for others. Net proceeds will go to the Carmen Bernal Compassionate Nursing Scholarship, which supports aspiring nurses in Douglas County.
