Adapt Integrated Health Care’s Prevention and Education team is hosting the annual Art of Prevention Art Show on Wednesday, May 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Winston Community Center.

An Adapt release said community members of all ages are invited to attend this free event and experience the creativity of local youth.

The showcase features artwork from middle and high school students across Douglas County, each piece offering a unique perspective on prevention, healthy choices, and the challenges facing young people today. Through painting, drawing and mixed media, students share messages that inspire reflection and positive change.

Prevention Program Manager Sidnee Hedrick said, “Art can be a powerful way for young people to express what matters to them”. Hedrick said, “This event creates space   for their voices to be seen and heard while bringing the community together around a shared goal of supporting youth well-being”.

During the event, artwork will be judged by community partners with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes awarded in several categories. Attendees will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite piece for the People’s Choice Award.
