Oregon State Police jailed a man on a drug charge and for a warrant on Sunday evening.
An OSP report said shortly after 7:00 p.m. a trooper was dispatched to after a caller said there was a suspicious person along Interstate Five northbound between the Exit 124 West Harvard Avenue interchange and the Exit 126 Edenbower Boulevard exit. Upon arrival, an unlawful campsite was located on Oregon Department of Transportation property that had been posted by ODOT last month. A subject at the camp was found to be in violation of his parole and was taken into custody on a detention warrant. Prior to being placed into handcuffs, the 55-year-old was allegedly observed attempting to hide a packing of methamphetamine that had been on his person.
The drugs were seized and the man was transported to corrections. He was advised to remove his campsite and all the litter once he is released from jail. The man was detained without bail.
