Roseburg Sister Cities is presenting its 2026 Obon Fundraising Series.

It is a collection of community-centered events designed to celebrate culture, connection, and shared experiences. Roseburg Sister Cities aims to bring together local organizations in meaningful and accessible ways, with each event inviting participants to engage in Japanese activities and learn more about Roseburg’s long-standing relationship with Kuki City, Japan.

This Saturday is Build Your Own Bento at Rainbow Kitchen on Southeast Cass Avenue in downtown Roseburg. The hands-on culinary experience is supporting the return of the Obon Festival on August 15th. Attendees will sample Japanese cuisine and create their own bento to take with them, A $50 ticket price includes a reusable bento box, meal and sides, recipes cards, and more.
