Roseburg Police jailed a man on public indecency charges on Tuesday afternoon.
An RPD report said 3:50 p.m. officers responded to the area of Fir Grove Park in the 2000 block of Northwest Stewart Park Drive after a caller said two individuals were engaging in oral intercourse. Upon arrival, officers contacted multiple witnesses who advised that the suspects were leaving the area in a luxury car.
Officers located the vehicle and, after observing a traffic violation, conducted a traffic stop. The driver was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid operator’s license and was cited accordingly.
The passengers, a 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, admitted to exchanging in the reported conduct. They were cited and released. A short time later, officers were dispatched back to the area following a report that the man had broken the driver’s windshield after a verbal altercation. Officers contacted the suspect and he admitted to causing the damage.
He was taken into custody and was transported to corrections. He was charged with public indecency and with second-degree criminal mischief. Bail was set at $12,500.
