ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN ON A TRESPASS CHARGE

Roseburg Police jailed a man on a trespass charge on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 1:40 p.m. the 60-year-old was contacted bundled up in a blanket, next to a small campfire, under the Jackson Street Bridge in the 200 block of Northeast Jackson Street. Camping is never allowed at this location, due to its proximity to Deer Creek.

A records check revealed that the suspect was excluded from the downtown area, which includes the Jackson Street Bridge. The man was transported to corrections where he was charged with second-degree criminal trespass He was also cited for a violation charge of prohibited camping and for prohibited burning. Bail was set at $1,250.
