Sutherlin Police jailed a man for having a weapon and a probation violation on Sunday.

An SPD report said shortly after 3:30 p.m. officers stopped the 20-year-old in the 1000 block of West Central Avenue, because he matched the description of a suspect on an unrelated call. It was found that the man was wanted by his probation officer for failing to report. While the man was being taken into custody, he was found to have a concealed weapon in his waist band. He was taken into custody and charged with carrying a concealed weapon and for the probation violation. The man was detained without bail.
