ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN AFTER ROADWAY INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed a man after a roadway incident on Friday afternoon.

An RPD report said just before 2:15 p.m. officers contacted the 49-year-old after he was allegedly on the sidewalk near Phoenix School in the 3100 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. During the contact, the man reportedly got up and walked into the roadway and laid on his back, blocking both westbound lanes of travel.

The man was taken into custody without incident. His parole officer authorized a detainer. The man was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and a parole violation. He was detained on $2,500 bail and was released on Monday morning.
