Three people were injured after a sports car rear-ended a school bus on Friday afternoon.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 2:00 p.m. the sports car was at the stop sign at Austin Road prior to entering Carnes Road in the Green District. A school bus was on Carnes waiting to turn right on to Austin Road because there was no room for the turn. The sports car driver said he saw kids on the bus egging him on for a burn out, which he did. The driver lost control during the burn out. and hit the back left side of the school bus.
A juvenile female had a knot on her head, an adult female complained of a pinched nerve in her neck, and another female juvenile complained of minor pain as well. There were no major injuries, according to the report.
The sports car driver was cited for careless driving.
