SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL MAN FOR RESISTING ARREST

Sutherlin Police jailed a man for resisting arrest on Tuesday evening.

An SPD report said at 7:00 p.m. officers contacted 36-year-old Larry Rios in the area of Pear Street and East First Avenue. Rios was reported to be yelling at passing vehicles.

During the contact it was found that the man had a valid warrant out for his arrest. When Rios was told that he was under arrest, he allegedly attempted to get into a vehicle. He reportedly resisted being taken into custody but after a brief struggle was placed into handcuffs.

Rios was also charged with second-degree criminal mischief and the warrant. He was detained on $7,500 bail and was released on Wednesday.
