An early start and a busy agenda are on the schedule for the Roseburg City Council meeting on Monday night.
Councilors will gather at 6:00 p.m. for a work study session regarding a future direction for the homeless issue.
At 7:00 p.m. Mayor Larry Rich will recognize city volunteers and issue a proclamation for Volunteer Recognition Month. Mayor Rich will also have a proclamation for Oregon Arbor Month, which is April. Appointments will be made to the Budget Committee and the Economic Development Commission.
Councilors will consider a resolution regarding a rounding policy for cash transactions. This follows the federal government’s decision to cease production of the penny.
The council will have first reading of ordinances regarding the Oregon Fire Code, prohibiting the use of fireworks in all Roseburg city parks, and prohibiting use of generators on city real property.
The council will vote on authorizing the city manager to negotiate and execute an amendment to the Intergovernmental agreement with Umpqua Community College releasing the remaining grant funds available for the Southern Oregon Medical Workforce Center Project.
