FOOD AS MEDICINE LIFESTYLE & NUTRITION COURSE BEGINS APRIL 14TH

Food As Medicine Oregon has their Lifestyle and Nutrition Course beginning next Tuesday, April 14th.

It’s a 13-week, evidence-based, disease prevention and reversal series that uses lifestyle medicine strategies to address the leading causes of illness both in the U.S. and in Douglas County. Utilizing food as medicine, new topics are covered each week, including heart disease, diabetes, cancer, obesity, and other chronic Illnesses.

A release said thousands of people have participated in the Food as Medicine program over the last ten years, and have seen positive results such as lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, normalized blood sugar level, significant weight loss, a decrease in dosage or even discontinuation of certain medications, improved mood and greater energy and more.

The course will be held for 13 consecutive weeks in the conference room of Aviva Health on Kenneth Ford Drive in north Roseburg. It will begin each Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m. and run for two hours. The course is available virtually over Zoom and at public satellite locations around Oregon.
