As of Thursday afternoon, crews with the Douglas Forest Protective Association were actively engaged on two wildland fires northwest of Roseburg.
A DFPA post said their firefighters and landowner resources are on an estimated 12 to 15-acre fire located within an industrial timber unit, near the 8000 block of Callahan Road. The fire is currently being referred to as the Hubbard/Bear Fire. Late Thursday there had been little to no growth in the surrounding timber with no threats to homes or structures in the area.
Firefighters were also dealing with an estimated 2-acre fire near the 8000 block of Tyee Road in Umpqua. The forward spread of the fire had already been knocked down. It was 100 percent plumbed and 30 percent lined as of Thursday afternoon. Crews will continue engagement on the fire until 100 percent mop up is achieved. No threats to homes or structures in the area were reported.
More information will be released later on Friday from the Douglas Forest Protective Association
