ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOLLOWING REPORTED DISTURBANCE

Roseburg Police jailed a man following a reported disturbance on Sunday.

An RPD report said at 11:25 a.m. officers responded after the alleged physical altercation was called in from a motel in the 400 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. The suspect was reported to be leaving in a vehicle, which officers located and stopped in the 1300 block of Northeast Stephens Street.

The driver, identified as 54-year-old Tobias Gallardo, admitted to arguing with the victim and stated that he grabbed and pushed her during the incident. Officers contacted the victim, who reportedly displayed bruising, neck redness, and other injuries. She reported being strangled and having difficulty swallowing. Gallardo allegedly gave inconsistent statements about the cause of her injuries, with no injuries observed on him. Gallardo was charged with fourth-degree assault, two counts of strangling, and menacing. After arraignment, bail was set at $7,000.
