Sutherlin Police cited a man following a reported theft incident on Friday.

An SPD report said at 9:00 p.m. an officer responded to a store in the 1300 block of West Central Avenue after a theft had been called in. An employee said the man, later identified as being a 24-year-old, had asked to use the phone at the business. When the man completed his call, he allegedly took $5 from a tip jar and ran out of the business.

The suspect was located the next morning. He admitted to the theft and was released after a citation was issued.
