One passenger was taken to the hospital following a four-vehicle crash on Friday afternoon.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 4:00 pm. a vehicle was stopped due to the vehicle in front of him being stopped for an unknown reason in the 2900 block of Highway 99 south of Roseburg. The driver of a second vehicle noticed the situation and began to slow down. The driver of a third vehicle got off Interstate 5 northbound and began hitting his brakes, attempting to pull to the side of the road. A fourth driver saw the third vehicle but was unable to stop in time crashing into the third vehicle. The third vehicle then hit the second vehicle, which crashed into the first vehicle.
A juvenile passenger in the second vehicle was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. All but the first vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
