Douglas County Commissioners Tom Kress, Chris Boice and Tim Freeman have issued a proclamation for Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day in Douglas County, designated as Sunday March 29th.

A county release said the commissioners were honored to be part of the Roseburg VA Health Care System’s Third Annual Vietnam Veterans of America Welcome Home Event, held on Wednesday. The event included a reception and luncheon for Vietnam Veterans and their families.

It included a special coining ceremony, during which every attending Vietnam Veteran received a specially designed commemorative coin in honor of their service. Coin presenters included a long list of public officials.
