ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN ON 40 CHARGES FOR ALLEGED PRIOR INCIDENTS

Roseburg Police jailed a man on 40 charges Tuesday morning for alleged prior incidents.

An RPD report said just after 8:30 a.m. 38-year-old William Saxton was contacted near the intersection of Northeast Grandview Drive and Northeast Huntley Street. In the first past case, Saxton was accused of stealing a credit card from a vehicle and using it at a store on two separate occasions. He was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, second-degree theft, third-degree theft, and two counts each of fraudulent use of a credit card, identity theft and computer crimes.

In the second case, from February 22nd, Saxton was allegedly seen on video entering a vehicle, stealing items and later using multiple stolen credit cards across Roseburg. Officers viewed video footage from four businesses which allegedly showed the man using the card to make purchases. Saxton was charged with unauthorized entry into a vehicle, first-degree theft, and ten counts each of fraudulent use of a credit card, theft and computer crimes. Saxton was detained without bail.
