Monday was the hottest day of 2026 so far in the Umpqua Valley, as Roseburg also set a new record high temperature for the date.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 80 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The previous record for the date was 78 degrees, set in 1959.
Until Monday, March 7th had been the warmest day in 2026. That is when the mercury got to 70 degrees.
Forecasters said high pressure in the region will lead to warm weather through Friday. Roseburg is expected to see a high temperature in the mid-70s Tuesday. The record high temperature for March 17th is 78 degrees, set in 1947.
