A Myrtle Creek man was jailed following a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Friday night.
An Oregon State Police report said just before 10:30 a.m. troopers responded to the wreck at the intersection of Highway 42 and Grant Smith Road in the Green District. The driver, 60-year-old Dennis Fain, was allegedly found to be impaired. The pedestrian was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center where they were treated and released for their injuries.
Fain submitted a breath and blood sample. Fain was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, third-degree assault, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, driving while suspended, vehicular assault, and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Fain is detained without bail.
The pedestrian was found to have an active warrant for their arrest. He was detained after leaving the hospital. Bail was set at $3,750.
