One woman was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash on Thursday.
An RPD report said just after 1:00 p.m. officers responded to the wreck at the intersection of Southeast Stephens Street and Southeast Oak Avenue. After an investigation, it was determined that the first vehicle had proceeded directly through a red light, resulting in a collision with the second vehicle, which was traveling north on Stephens Street.
Officers discovered the second driver did not have a valid driver license and did not have insurance. The woman was given two citations. She was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver who caused the crash was charged with failure to obey a traffic control device. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
